*whew*

I am happy to report that we are back to what we knew as "normal" before Matt was so sick last week. Back up, I forgot that I didn't write any of that on here...oops. The quick recap goes like this:

Thursday, 2.16.06: Matt goes to Urgent Care after having been sick on and off for nearly 3 weeks. Doctor gives him an antibiotic...we assume all is well.

Saturday, 2.18.06: 5 am I Amy wake up for the umpteenth time to use the toilet only this time it doesn't refill with water. Sinus infection Matt goes to look to see if indeed the pipes are frozen and indeed yes, not only are they frozen but the water meter has again busted and is now spurting water from the main water line. Matt calls wonderful neighbor (and plumber) Tim who helps stop the leak. Matt and I pack it up and head to the Courtyard in Brighton since it is also YE weekend...thankfully the kids were already at the Maibergers'.

Monday, 2.20.06: A still sick Matt calls the park owner and gets things rolling to get our water fixed. By 6:30 pm on this night the water kicks back on and we all head home.

Tuesday, 2.21.06: Matt wakes up feeling way worse than ever and heads back into the Urgent Care. They change his antibiotic and he stays in bed for two days.

Wednesday, 2.22.06: Matt and I have our 9th anniversary...the extent of the celebration was take out Chinese...we are planning to make this up with a real date soon! I also fill in for Matt at youth group and teach the lesson.

Thursday, 2.23.06: Matt wakes up and for day 3 takes his new antibiotic which has seemed to start to kick the infection only THIS TIME he has an allergic reaction to the medicine!!!! So back into the Urgent Care he goes for a shot of steroids in the butt. Poor guy.

So anyway, like I said before, Matt is feeling much better, is now on his THIRD antibiotic and doing well.

I tell ya this baby either has to come quickly or I need some special super mommy strength to make it 4 more weeks.

If you would all pray for us...we found some land in Brighton that we could potentially move our house to. There are SO many things that would need to come into line for that to happen so we are desperately seeking wisdom from the Lord.

Well, it's off to serve dinner and then go get Zoe her big girl bed this evening...may you all be blessed...

Curse you, loud flashy truck!

Remember Finding Nemo...the fish in the tank all have their elaborate plan to escape...Nemo overcame his fear of sticking the marble in the fan and the tank is now nice and dirty. They are all sure that the dentist will bag them up for cleaning the tank. Then they wake up and to their dismay find the tank all sparkly and clean. The dentist has installed a new filter called "aqua scum 3000" or something like that. One of the fish cries "CURSE YOU AQUASCUM!!!!!!" Ok, scum in the fish tank has nothing to do with what I am posting about, but it just explains where my title comes from. When it dumps snow here in Michigan, we in our subdivision thankfully have snow plows that plow our streets for us. Sometimes they even salt the streets. Well, today was no exception. My daughter has named the snow plow the "loud flashy truck" because it has a flashing orange light on top and when it backs up it beeps really loud. After another night of restless pregnancy non-sleep I finally drift off around 5 something AM into a very peaceful rest...and that lasted about 30 seconds. The truck came and in my mind I am screaming "CURSE YOU LOUD FLASHY TRUCK!!! You are waking up my children and me and we do NOT want to be awake yet!!!!!!!!" Oh well, at least the streets are plowed. :-)

E I E I ... OH!

Ok do any of you watch ER? I have been an ER watcher since it's birth in the early 90's...sad confession, I know. So last Thursday when I was watching it, there was one line that sent me laughing hysterically. I have come up with a phrase to describe this pregnancy. This poor man had ALS on the show and all of the sudden just started bawling, crying uncontrolably. He then says through sobs, "It's the disease...it's so stupid...it will go away in a second...it's called emotional incontinence." Yes ladies and gentlemen, this is what I have decided I have. Emotional incontinence. Yes, it's the pregnancy hormones, but I thought this term suited it much better!!! I am sad, happy, angry, full of love and a myriad of other emotions all at the most random times and they all come on seemingly out of nowhere. So there you go. For the next 8 weeks if I seem out of sorts, don't worry, I am just emotional incontinent. :-)

P.S. this post is in no way intended to make fun of people who may be out there suffering from actual EI or whatever it's official name is. Just thought I would put in that disclaimer.

So Whatcha Been Up To Lately?

I know that I have hit a blogging low. For those of you who dutifully check every day to see if I have posted, I give my sincerest apologies. I think it must be the third trimester. That and the fact that I already have 2 kids. I don't know...I just haven't been in the blogging "mood" lately. Something funny will happen, or something important, but by the time I get around to having the time to blog it just doesn't seem funny or important or I have totally forgotten!

Ok, so now that I have that off my chest...

Things are good in Maiberger land. I would give you the countdown to Rhegan's birth, but you can already see that at the top of this page! We have started the necessary steps toward getting things ready to have a baby in the house again. Step one...get the crib out of Zoe's closet and set it up in our room. (DONE) Step two...take Gabe's roller coaster down in his room (DONE) so that we can get to the closet for...Step three...take the big clothing tub with baby clothes out of Gabe's closet. (DONE) The following steps still have to happen:

Sort through baby clothes tub and get stuff out for Rhegan
Wash and put away baby clothes in Rhegan's clothing area (which will be our cedar chest)
Move Gabe's dresser and toy box into his closet and reorganize it so that things can be found
Move the big clothing tub into Zoe's closet and organize it so things can be found
Clean out the shed (thankfully this is Matt's job) to make room for Zoe's toddler bed
Move Zoe's mattress to the crib
Put the futon in Zoe's room and redecorate to make it girly
Arrange our bedroom with the crib in it for the best possible set-up

Mindy asked me the other day if I was in nesting mode...um, perhaps...do ya think?
