Eyes Mohk Tim Hat

For those of you wondering what in the world this title is all about...it's a puzzle! Have you ever played Mad Gab? We played with the Schoebs the other night late and Mindy and I decided it would be fun to blog in Mad Gab talk. So can anyone figure my title out? :-) Here's a clue that might help you...it has to do with when I played Settlers of Catan tonight with Matt and a graduate from our youth group and TOTALLY beat matt...even got to blow up some of his ships in the process. It was a glorious day for the wife ;-)

Gabe rode nine times, I rode two. It was a great day at Michigan's Adventure! Fooey to you, Mr. Weatherman...it was a perfectly sunny and beautiful day!

We got to witness the day that they rode a ride together all by themselves.

Amanda's new little girl

Congratulations to my best friend Amanda and her husband Michael and to their twin three year olds Abby and Isaac! Their new little girl, Anna Michaela ("Annie") finally got to come home from the hospital today after about a week in the NICU. She is SO CUTE and you just want to scoop her up and hug her. You can click the title above to see a very cute picture of her. And happy 29th birthday to Amanda!!!

The legend of the toy trolls

The toy-rotating method. Today is one of those days that I am so thankful for it. As I went through all the current toys in the toy room to sort, throw away and put in a give-away box there was just such and overwhelming sense that yes, I, Amy Maiberger, have victory over the toys!!!! You see, long ago there were toy trolls that lived in our house, scattering toys everywhere overnight as we slept. We found that like rodents they liked to hide in piles of toys. But then one day, we took away their piles. And they had no place to hide....they were vulnerable and out in the open. We kicked them out the door as we organized all the toys into five different large rubbermaid tubs. And then once every 2 months or so, out comes a new tub and into that tub go all the current toys. I LOVE IT!! And the joy on the little faces as they play with toys they had forgotten about just makes it all worth the effort. And the joy in mom's heart as she gets to sneakily put away, throw away, or give away that toy that for the last 2 months has been driving her NUTS is just very abundant.

Officially...old

Well, if turning 30 wasn't bad enough, as of today, May 20, 2005, I am officially old. I of course am being very sarcastic, so let me explain. Also, I don't want to gross anyone out, so I will try my best to be discreet. I have been having hemmorhoid (sp?) symptoms for a really long time now and I just haven't wanted to go to the doctor. But after many weeks of consistent bleeding as well as the other symptoms, I decided it was time to drag myself in there. As a result, I will get to see a hemmorhoid specialist, but in the meantime, I GET TO TAKE METAMUCIL. And wouldn't ya know I'm not so lucky to get to take the pill form, oh no, I get to take the kind that you stir and drink. HAHAHAHAHA. So here's to my daily dose of fiber! Cheers!

First Grade, check!

I am SO happy to report that as of Wednesday, May 4, Gabriel has completed first grade. He is such a big boy I just can't get over it! We worked so hard and plowed through our last lessons and now we can just relax, go on vacation and have a GREAT summer. I also just read through these blogs and realized that I never said what we decided for Gabe in the fall...he will for sure be going to Livingston Christian School. Matt and I are thrilled and Gabe is WAY past thrilled. I am trying to not let myself think too hard about it though cause it will be such a big switch for all of us. So for now, here's to enjoying the summer and all it will bring. Piano lesson is here...gotta scoot!

Hits and a showing!

First of all, we just got an email saying that the website that we have our house advertised on has had 205 hits! (see it here) That was just astonishing to me. Then, yesterday we had what I consider to be the first showing to a truly interested buyer! Wahoo! This woman in particular, if she ends up making a deal, would actually want to buy and move the house and pay CASH. Ok, let me tell you that that is AMAZING. We are just praying and praying that this is the right lady to buy the house. And the new kitchen sink went in just in time. (whew!) Please keep praying anyone who reads this and we will update soon.

Vacation is just days away I can taste it! The laundry to be packed is in full swing, both Zoe's and my dress are HERE and being hemmed as we speak, we got very pretty shoes and a little silver bag for zoe today...the list goes on and on. I tell ya I just can't wait for Sunday at 1pm when we are ON THE ROAD! Missouri here we come!!

In the meantime the everyday things of life are waiting...tuck the kids into bed, read some stories, and keep that laundry going. :-)
